Starting his first business at age 20, Bill's enthusiasm, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to customer service allowed him to expand his Solar Protective Technology business to two locations in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area within 4 years. After 10 years, Bill sold his Solar Technology business and moved to Wilmington, NC where he pursued his childhood love of boats in the marine industry. During the next 15 years, Bill enjoyed a successful yacht brokerage career and published a regional Yacht Brokerage and Sales Magazine which he sold after building it for four years. Bill's valuable experience and solid business sense bring complimentary attributes to his latest venture… Rainstorm Solutions, llc., a partnership with two other very successful local businessmen. With the new governmental regulations being set in place and the knowledge that water is a precious resource, Bill and his partners are setting out to make a difference and to do their part for the betterment of the environment. R. Hanes Hoffman, Jr. is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in communications. Upon graduating, his lifelong interest in conservation and ecology took him to Valdez Alaska where he worked with marine biologist, analyzing the oil spill in Prince William Sound.  Afterward he spent several years traveling extensively and pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities, owning and managing two restaurants, as well as a kayak tour company in Hawaii. Currently living in Wilmington, NC, he is a professional metalsmith and photographer specializing in marine art. 
 
His knowledge and appreciation of the environment along with his organizational skills and attention to detail have led him and his partners to form Rainstorm Solutions and to set as its goal to provide the highest level of client satisfaction.

Burrows Smith burrows@rainstormsolutions.com
Burrows Smith is a lifetime resident of Wilmington N.C. After he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Business, he started a Highway Grading-Public Utility construction company.  He sold that business in 2006 and now spends the majority of his time developing land in New Hanover County.  His current main development is River Bluffs a 315 acre Low Impact Development (LID) along the Northeast Cape Fear River.  This subdivision will be using many innovative storm water controls including over 100 cisterns.  We count on Burrows for technical support as he has installed many large storm drain systems over the years; from piping to 10 acre ponds to numerous infiltration systems.  He has vast knowledge in de-watering sites as he has installed many Sewer Lift Stations in the 25'-35' deep range. One up to 10' in diameter in Bayshore Estates for New Hanover County.  So whatever your special needs may be, rest assure he has done it before; and can suggest ways to save you time and money.
